SPOILER ALERT: This post contains spoilers for Episode 407 of Apple TV’s The Morning Show.

Episode 7 of The Morning Show Season 4, titled “Person of Interest,” tests Bradley like never before, expanding on the tension of her deal with the Feds versus maintaining her journalistic integrity.

As Bradley gets closer to figuring out who is responsible for the Wolf River cover-up within UBA, Bel Powley’s Claire Conway resurfaces following her return in the third episode, further complicating Bradley’s tenuous situation with the FBI because the Feds are searching for Claire due to her involvement with Extinction Revolt, who they call a “domestic terrorist cell.” Bradley wants to protect her source, who is a wanted fugitive and former TMS staffer, but her arrangement to cooperate with the FBI after her involvement in the insurrection makes it difficult when they reach out to Bradley to ask if she has spoken to Claire or knows where she is.

After reconnecting with Yanko (Nestor Carbonnell) — the pair were romantically involved in Season 1 — Claire makes a move to go on TMS and tell her story, which forces Bradley’s hand to tell her FBI contact Claire’s whereabouts or spend the next 10 years in a federal pen for “aiding and abetting.” This comes after Bradley looked through Cory’s phone to sift through his involvement with the cover-up while they were together, bringing about a fast breakup after they got together.

“I think everybody’s gonna be a little bit mad at her. She makes a lot of people mad this year, also what she does to Claire. Bad,” Witherspoon said. “I don’t know if that one’s recoverable. This character is hard to play this season because she didn’t make a lot of choices that I felt good about.”

Episode 407 ends with the Feds raiding UBN and taking Claire away, set to “Way Down We Go” by KALEO. Yanko keeps it cool while anchoring the teacup with Bradley, but once their segment concludes, he gives her the cold shoulder.

“But what were you gonna do? That’s the hard thing. It’s such an internal struggle,” Jennifer Aniston added. “ What’s the right thing to do and what’s protecting your sources? Which is a journalist’s code, to protect your sources. A lot of conflict of interest.”
